Dr. Joel Lehrer is one of the foremost ear and dizziness (balance) specialists in New Jersey. He has particular expertise in inner ear disorders and middle ear and mastoid surgery. He has lectured and published extensively with particular emphasis in the areas of dizziness and imbalance and disorders of the inner ear.
One of the founding partners of Northern Jersey Ear, Nose and Throat, PA, Dr. Lehrer was trained in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) and completed a Fellowship in Otology and Neurotology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Lehrer was a member of the teaching staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Otolaryngology and Neurotology, and at the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital in Otolaryngology and has appointments at the Mount Sinai Medical School and the New York Medical College. He presently has a teaching appointment at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ.
Dr. Lehrer was an active member of the New York County and Bergen County Medical Societies and served as a Trustee and Secretary of the Bergen County Medical Society. He was President of the Bergen County Society of Otolaryngologists and President of the Holy Name Hospital Physicians Organization. He served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Medical Staff of Holy Name Hospital and as a Trustee of the Hospital. He served as a Trustee of the Valley Hospital Physicians Organization. He is a Fellow of the American Neurotology Society, and a member of the Barany Society and of the Neurotological and Equilobriometric Society, both of which are societies devoted to Neurotology.
Dr. Lehrer’s practice provides information on dizziness, imbalance and disorders of the inner ear, diagnosis and treatments for ear disorders as well as rehabilitative services for hearing loss, which includes the fitting of hearing aids. He has operating and admitting privileges at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey. He sees and treats patients at both of Northern Jersey ENT’s offices in Teaneck and Midland Park.
Dr. Jerry Silver has been Dr. Lehrer’s partner for over 40 years, and also is a founding partner of the practice. Dr. Silver went to medical school in Toronto and did his Otolaryngology training in Albany as well as at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Silver devotes his practice to the general care of the ear, nose and throat with particular emphasis placed on sinus and nasal surgery, and laser surgery. Dr. Silver devotes a portion of his practice to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea and snoring. Dr. Silver is also well versed in cosmetic and plastic surgery of the face.
Dr. Silver is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. Formerly the Director and Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology at Valley Hospital, he is presently an Attending Otolaryngologist at both Valley Hospital and Holy Name Hospital.
Dr. Silver’s patients have access to hearing aid services and the most modern techniques of testing the hearing and balance mechanisms. Professional audiologists oversee and provide these services.
Dr. Asmat Quraishi concentrates on head and neck surgery, including specific surgery to correct snoring and sleep apnea, cosmetic and plastic surgery of the face and treatment of the middle and inner ear for various disorders causing dizziness and hearing loss. He received his training and practiced in the United Kingdom prior to serving residents in general surgery and Otolaryngology at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Quraishi has taken in-depth post-graduate training in the study of temporal bone surgery of the ear. He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York University Medical Center and as Attending Otolaryngologist at Holy Name Hospital and Valley Hospital, where he is Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Harry Katz devotes his practice to the general care of the ears, nose and throat of children and adults, with particular emphasis on diagnosis, treatment and surgery for nasal and sinus diseases. He completed his undergraduate work at Columbia University and then went on to complete his medical school, internship and residency training at New York University Hospital and Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Katz is well versed in the newer endoscopic techniques of sinus surgery, especially image-guided surgery. Dr. Katz is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and the American Rhinologic Society. He is Attending Otolaryngologist at Holy Name Hospital and has served as the Director of the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Valley Hospital. He has been awarded numerous accolades, including the Distinguished Certificate of Appreciation by the Valley Hospital Medical System for uncompromising care and leadership, as well as numerous listings in Castle-Connelly’s "Top Doctors".
Dr. Orrin Davis treats general problems of the ear, nose and throat and is one of the few true Head and Neck specialists in Bergen County, New Jersey. He has particular expertise in Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders and surgery. After completing his residency at Northwestern University he went on to complete a Head and Neck Oncologic-Facial Reconstruction Fellowship at Methodist Hospital in Indiana, studying with the inventors of the most widely used device for restoring voice after vocal cord surgery. Dr. Davis has been associated with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He is one of the few physicians in Bergen County who is trained and certified in robotic thyroid surgery. He currently serves as Attending Otolaryngologist at Valley Hospital and Holy Name Hospital, Arts Medical Association, the Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children.
Dr. Tejas Raval obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University and completed his residency training in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.
Dr. Raval is board certified in pediatric and adult general otolaryngology, including sinus and nasal problems, voice and swallowing disorders and sleep apnea. He has particular interest in hoarseness and voice disorders, and performs video-laryngo-stroboscopy and endoscopic swallowing evaluations in the office. He also treats patients with head and neck cancer, including thyroid and salivary gland tumors and facial skin cancers.
Dr. Raval holds office hours at both the Midland Park and Teaneck offices and appointments are available on some Saturdays. He has staff privileges at both Valley Hospital and Holy Name Hospital.
Dr. Laurence Milgrim has been in private practice for over fifteen years. He has practiced in New York and Connecticut and has relocated his practice back home to New Jersey in 2010. Dr. Milgrim devotes his practice to General Ear, Nose and Throat for adults and children; advanced Sinus Disease and surgery, and reconstructive and cosmetic facial plastic surgery and facial trauma. He is the head of our Facial Plastic Surgery Center. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Milgrim attended medical school at UMDNJ-Rutgers University. He completed his Residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Milgrim then completed his Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Milgrim is double-board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Milgrim is a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Otolaryngology. He is listed in Castle-Connelly’s “Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area”, “Top Cosmetic Doctors In America”, Consumer Research Council’s “America’s Top Doctors” and “Best Doctors in America” publication. Dr. Milgrim has authored many articles and texts including the most recent textbook, “Cosmetic Facial Plastic, Reconstructive and Trauma Surgery”.
Dr. Nitin Bhatia completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. He then obtained his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed his Otolaryngology- Head and Neck residency training there as well. His research at New York University Medical Center on hearing loss, such as noise exposure, chemotherapy, medications, and antibiotics makes him one of our experts in the field.
Dr. Bhatia sees both pediatric and adult patients. He treats patients with general ear, nose and throat disorders, such as sinus disease, swallowing disorders, and head and neck cancer , but his expertise lies in diseases of the ear, and coordinates his practice with Dr. Lehrer in treating patients with hearing and balance disorders.
